The ingredients needed to make Quinoa Idli:
  1. Prepare 1 cup quinoa, powdered
  2. Prepare 1/2 cup semolina
  3. Prepare 1-2 tbsp. oil
  4. Take 1/2 tsp. mustard seeds
  5. Take 1/2 tsp. cumin seeds
  6. Prepare 1 tsp. urad dal (split black gram)
  7. Make ready 1 tsp. grated ginger
  8. Prepare 1-2 green chilies, chopped
  9. Make ready 1 sprig curry leaves
  10. Make ready 1/2 tsp. turmeric powder
  11. Prepare 1/2 tsp. roasted coriander powder
  12. Take 1/2 tsp. roasted cumin powder
  13. Make ready 2 tbsp. coriander leaves, chopped
  14. Prepare 1 tsp. flaxseeds (opt)
  15. Take To taste salt
  16. Prepare 1 cup yoghurt
  17. Prepare As required water
  18. Take 1/2 tsp. oil to grease the idli moulds
  19. Take As required sambar & chutney to serve
Steps to make Quinoa Idli:
  1. Heat oil in a pan & temper with mustard seeds. After it stops spluttering, add the cumin seeds and urad dal. Saute for a few seconds.
  2. Add the green chilies, curry leaves & ginger. Saute for a few seconds.
  3. Then add all the dry spices and mix well.
  4. Now add the semolina and continue to saute for two minutes.
  5. Add the powdered quinoa and saute for 1-2 minutes. Switch off the flame.
  6. Add the coriander leaves and flaxseed. Keep aside to cool.
  7. Add the yoghurt & required quantity of water to make a batter. Keep aside for 15 minutes. Add more water to make a thick, but pourable batter.
  8. Spoon them into greased idli moulds and steam for 15-20 minutes.
  9. When it has cooled down slightly, demould them.
  10. Serve them hot with coconut chutney and sambar for a healthy and a - wholesome breakfast.
