The ingredients needed to make Degi Zarda:
  1. Get Sela rice 1cup(soaked for 3-4hrs)
  2. Get 1.5 cup Sugar
  3. Get 2 tbsp Ghee
  4. Get 1/3 cup Water
  5. Prepare 2 Green cardamom
  6. Make ready 1 large cinnamon stick
  7. Take Gulab jamuns and ashrafis for garnish
  8. Prepare 1 tbsp Zarda colour
  9. Get 1 tbsp Kewra essence
  10. Prepare 1/4 cup khoya
Steps to make Degi Zarda:
  1. Boil Sela rice with zarda colour and orange peel in water.
  2. Once done strain them.
  3. In a pot add ghee,cardamom and cinnamon stick. Then add sugar,and some water and stir until sugar dissolves
  4. Once sugar dissolves add boiled Sela rice and put it on dum.
  5. Once the sheera dries add khoya, asharfis,kewra water and let it be on slow flame for 5minutes.
  6. Dish out and garnish with gulab jamuns.
