The ingredients needed to make Khoya Kheer:
- Take 1.5 litre Milk
- Take 3/4 cup Rice (soaked for 4-5hrs)
- Prepare 2 green cardamons
- Make ready 6-8 tbsp Sugar
- Take 3 tbsp Condensed milk
- Take 1/4 cup Burfi/khoya
- Make ready 1 tbsp Kewra water
- Take Almonds and pistachios chopped:for garnish
- Get Chandi warq for garnish
Steps to make Khoya Kheer:
- Put milk to boil with cardamons.
- Once boil comes add soaked rice and cook on very slow flame for at least an hour and keep stirring in between.
- Use hand whisk or hand blender to mix and blend the rice until rice are soft enough and blend well but some grainy texture remaining.
- Add sugar and condensed milk,adjust the sweetness as per your family's liking. I add burfi and condensed milk so I add the sugar accordingly.
- Once the Kheer gets thick and nicely cooked add kewra water and dish out the Kheer.
- Garnish with nuts and chandi warq.
- P.S: cook on slow flame and for a good time to give a nice color and consistency to the kheer. - Also first add 6tbsp sugar then condensed milk and burfi,if needed then add more sugar as per your taste.
