  4. Add tomatoes. Cook for 5-10 minutes.
  5. Add water and chickpeas. Cook for 1 minute, slowly stirring.
  6. Add remaining spices, salt, and lemon juice. Cook for 10 minutes, covered.
  7. Remove cover and stir in ginger.
  8. Remove from heat. Serve over basmati rice.
