Vada Pav is a struggler's saviour! When at start of the day, we are running late and need to eat something - we turn to vada pav. When I was new to Mumbai and didn't know what to do for breakfast, I would just grab a vada pav or two on my way to office and that would be my happy. Vada pav, alternatively spelt as vada pao, wada pav, or wada pao, is a vegetarian fast food dish native to the state of Maharashtra.

- Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds and roast some sliced onions for two minutes.

- Mix the mixture properly and take it out on a plate to cool.
- After it gets cooled, mix it with cornflour or rice flour and knead to mix it properly.
- Then grease your palms with oil, make small balls and dip it in gram flour mixture.
- To make the gram flour mixture, mix the flour with salt and soda. Make a consistent slurry using water and keep it aside for a few minutes.
- Deep fry these vadas and fry it till crisp and brown.
- Place it inside the pav. Serve it with green chilli.
