- Prepare 1 bay leaf / tej patta

- Prepare pinch hing / asafoetida ½ tsp salt
- Prepare 1/2 tsp sugar

- Make ready 2 tbsp tamarind chutney
- Take 2 potato, boiled and mashed
- Prepare 2 tbsp fresh coconut, grated
- Make ready handful pomegranate seeds

- Take 2 tbsp masala peanuts

- Get 6 pav
- Make ready 1/4 cup tamarind chutney
- Prepare 1/4 cup garlic chutney
- Prepare 1 cup cheese, grated
- Get 3 tsp butter, for roasting
- Make ready 1/2 onion, finely chopped
- Make ready 1/4 cup sev
Instructions to make Dabeli Mumbai Style:
- Steps to prepare dabeli masala :- 1. Take a pan & add red chilli, coriander seeds, cumin, fennel, pepper, bay leaf, black cardamom, cinnamon stick and cloves. - 2. Dry roast for a minute. Now add dry coconut, hing, sugar & salt. Roast it on low flame for a while. - 3. Let it cool and blend it into coarse masala.
- Steps to prepare dabeli stuffing:- 1. Take the same pan and a tbsp oil. Heat it. - 2. Add dabeli masala to it. Mix it well. - 3. Now add Tamrind chutney to it. Saute it for a minute. - 4. Add boiled potatoes & salt to it. Mixit well. - 5. Garnish it with coriander leaves, pomegranate seeds, sev and masala peanut. - Instructions
- Firstly, slit 2 sides of the pav and create packet.
- Spread one side of pav with a tsp of tamarind chutney and other side with garlic chutney.
- Also stuff a tsp of prepared dabeli stuffing.
- Top with a tbsp of grated cheddar cheese and a tbsp of chopped onions.
- Further pour ½ tsp of tamarind chutney and garlic chutney. Again stuff the prepared dabeli stuffing and level it out.
- Heat the pan with some butter and place stuffed pav. Roast on medium flame flipping both sides till the dabeli turns crisp.
- Finally, roll the sides of dabeli in fine sev and serve cheesy kacchi dabeli.
