  1. Take 250 gms small prawns
  2. Get 100 gms toor dal
  3. Take 1 egg plant

  5. Make ready 1 piece pumpkin (of 200g)

  7. Get 1 carrot
  8. Prepare 2-3 pointed gourds

  10. Prepare 1 plantain

  13. Get 1 tsp turmeic powder
  14. Take 1 tsp red chilli powder
  15. Take 2 tsp ginger garlic paste
  16. Prepare 1/2 tsp cumin powder

  18. Prepare to taste salt
  19. Get 2 tbsp oil
  20. Make ready 2 tsp roasted cumin-red chilli powder
  21. Get 1 tsp chopped coriander leaves
Instructions to make Prawn(Prawn Dhansak):
  1. First of all remove the head and shell of the prawns. Wash them well and marinate them with salt and turmeic powder for 20-30 minutes.
  2. Cut the vegetables into cubes, wash them well and keep aside.
  3. Rinse the toor dal well and transfer it to a pressure cooker with some water, turmeic powder and salt. Add in cut veggies and pressure cook for about 1-2 whistles on medium heat. Release the steam, open the lid and keep aside.
  4. Heat oil in a wok. Add chopped onion and dry chilli. Fry till onion turns translucent. Add ginger garlic paste and saute till raw smell of the garlic goes away. Next add chilli powder, turmeic powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, salt and saute till oil begins to ooze out.
  5. Now add the marinated prawns and mix well with the spices. Cook covered for 4-5 minutes or until done on a medium flame. Give it an occasional stir in between.
  6. Next pour the cooked dal and veggies into the wok. Bring it to boil and simmer for 5-7 minutes.
  7. Sprinkle roasted cumin-red chilli powder and coriander leaves before removing from the flame.
  8. Serve hot with rice/roti.
