  1. Slit brinjals from both the sides without cutting completely
  2. Soak tamarind in 2 cups of water
  3. For gravy. Make a smooth paste of roasted peanuts and grated coconut
  4. Heat a pan,put some oil and fry the brinjals so that they become softer
  5. Then in a pan saute ginger, garlic paste and onion until golden brown
  6. Then add the above paste and stir it
  7. Now add cumin powder, coriander powder, salt, red chilli powder and mix well
  8. Now add tamarind water accirding to taste
  9. Now add fried brinjals into the above mixture and lid the pan for 5 minutes
