The ingredients needed to make Kharwas/Colostrum-milk pudding:
  1. Make ready 1 cup colostrum milk
  2. Get 1 cup cow milk
  3. Take 5 tsp sugar
  4. Prepare Cardamom powder as per taste
  5. Prepare strands saffron of as per taste

Instructions to make Kharwas/Colostrum-milk pudding:
  1. Boil and cool cow milk. Do not boil colostrum milk,just strain it and keep it aside.
  2. Mix the milks together,add sugar and stir till it dissolves.
  3. Pour the mix into a steel container.
  4. Add cardamom powder and saffron strands.
  5. Steam for 20 minutes in a pressure cooker/steamer. If you are using a pressure cooker,remove the whistle.
  6. Switch off the flame after 20 minutes and let it cool down.
  7. Cut into desired shapes and serve the kharwas chilled.

It is delicious thick milk white pudding. or ghud mixed with colostrum milk. however, i have used the condensed milk which already contains the required sweetness in it. lastly, i have added cardamom powder with a basic garnishing. but this can be easily extended with choice of dry fruits like powdered cashews, almonds and walnuts. However, not everyone has access to colostrum milk! This recipe is about making kharwas with regular milk. Take colostrum milk in a wide bowl that fits inside the steamer. Add sugar and cardamom to the milk and mix well with spoon until the jaggery/sugar dissolves.
