- Soak black urad dal and rajma overnight. Add enough water.
- Rinse the dal and with 3 cups of water cook it in a cooker. Also add salt to taste.
- Take 5 whistles on medium flame.
- Heat ghee in a pan. Saute bay leaf, followed by onions.
- Once the onions become brown add ginger-garlic paste.
- Then add tomatoes and cook for a few minutes.
- Add turmeric, coriander, cumin and chilli powder. Then put salt to taste.
- Cook till the water separates. dd cooked dal and mix it properly.
- Give the dal a good boil for 15 minutes. And add water as required to maintain the consistency.
- To give the dal a smooth texture, add fresh cream.
- You can also add garam masala (optional).
