- on med/low heat, melt butter in sauce pan
- once butter is melted, mix in half of the flour. mixture should become a thick doughy paste
- add milk and stir vigorously using a whisk until mixture becomes smooth. add remaining flour and more milk if needed
- once mixture is smooth and creamy, add nutmeg, basil, and rosemary. mix while adding
- add parmesan cheese to sauce mixture. mix with whisk. sauce will thicken
- place bed of cooked pasta on plate, add desired chicken sausage and smother with sauce
