Instructions to make Balushahi:
- Knead the dough by mixing all the ingredients
- Let it rest for 10mins
- In a big pan add sugar & water.
- Stir for a while then add cardamom powder and colour
- Let the sugar melt and bring it to a boil
- Cook it for around 5mins and switch off the flame
- Knead the dough again and divide into small portion
- Take one portion and roll and roll between your palms & make rounds by making a hole in between.
- Fry in hot oil on low to medium flame.
- Fry till they become golden brown in colour
- Then put directly into sugar syrup.
- Do not cover the pot*
- Let the fried rounds dip in sugar syrup for 5-10mins
- After 10mins remove balushahi from sugar syrup on a plate
- Put chopped pistachios for garnishing..serve and enjoy
